I think Joss was just eager to shove in a love interest for Willow at the last minute to avoid any implications about Willow’s sexuality and Tara’s death. As a result, we get Kennedy, who has absolutely no personality or characterization outside of being Willow’s love interest and trying to be as different as possible from Tara. Booooooooooooring. And w/o any backstory Kennedy just comes off as a bossy, overconfident brat, instead of possibly a really interesting character. I wouldn’t say Kennedy forcd her back into “meekness,” though. Kennedy was always supportive of Willow. She was kind of pushy, sure, but she wouldn’t ever force herself on Willow necessarily. She was just trying to encourage her out of her shell, especially after Tara’s death. And now I hate you, because you actually got me to defend Kennedy.I hated when they paired Willow with Kennedy in the final season. Kennedy is too pushy and spoiled and put Willow back in her role of the meek girlfriend. I feel like it killed all of the character development she made throughout the show…especially with Tara.
